Danielle M. Le Bris was born and raised in Versailles, France. She discovered art at a very
young age as she played in Louis XIV's gardens and wandered
through the Palace's many rooms.
She studied art in France, England and the
United States.
In the United States she studied at the University of the
Arts in Philadelphia and she also graduated from the prestigious
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
She paints from visual memories, recalling the emotional impact of a particular moment in time.
A variety of mediums are used to express those emotions: acrylic, water color, encaustic, oil and oil pastels on paper, archival panels and wood blocks.
The paint is applied with a palette knife, rags and fingers; then the surface is sanded, scraped and reworked.
She is the recipient of many awards for her drawings and paintings.
Her work is in private collections
throughout Europe and the United States.
