Pamela Gatens

Pamela Gatens is an artist in the impressionist style who finds her inspiration in color and nature. Working in acrylic and watercolor, she is a prolific painter and entertaining teacher. Pamela is also a Signature Member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society. She sells her work at The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort, online, and at Tamarack in Beckley, WV. Her line of cat and floral cards have been best sellers for years. Pamela lives in Hillsboro, WV with her husband Pat, dog Barker, and cats Pokey and Mack.

I want the viewer of my paintings to share my fascination with color and nature. I paint flowers and cats with lush brushstrokes and unexpected color combinations. The painting experience is more to me than an application of paint on canvas - it is an energy-filled, exciting process that takes many colorful twists and turns along the way. My interpretation of the subjects I love give me endless excuses to use every color on my palette with great delight.
