For this challenge you must choose from one of 3 color schemes: complementary, split-complementary or triadic, and create a painting with only those colors. (IMPORTANT: This has nothing to do with the tubes of paint you use - it has everything to do with the color of your objects, background, etc.
You may use either the traditional or Munsell wheel. One other option is to combine the complementary & split-complementary and use those 4 colors. (for example, red, turquoise, green & lime-green).HINT 1:
You might find it works better to have a dominant color (takes up the most room in the painting) or dominant color range. For example, If I choose split-complementary, and I have a whole lot of red, then I would want smaller amounts of turquoise and lime-green. OR
, I could have a whole lot of lime-green and turquoise, and smaller amounts of red. Using a dominant color tends to make your painting more cohesive.HINT 2:
