What is the smallest amount of information that still says "apple"? Your challenge is to paint an apple - any apple - in as few areas of color as possible, and still have it read as a 3-dimensional apple.
Hint #1: Pay close attention to the values!! Make sure as you move around to each area of color you are comparing the value to ALL the other values and not just the values right next to it.
Hint #2: I recommend drawing the apple first, and then dividing the apple with lines into areas of color BEFORE you begin to paint.
Hint #3: Shine a strong light on your apple for maximum contrast. Pay specific attention to the differences between the light side and shadow side.
Hint #4: Have fun!
Please be sure to follow the spirit and the letter of the challenge.
For example, each submission must be painted after the challenge is posted.
