Barbara Benedetti Newton

My art career began as a fashion illustrator while I was still in art school in Seattle. Marriage, raising a family and the purchase of a 13 acre farm came next, resulting in a twenty-year sabbatical from art. Now, many years later, I'm painting full time - primarily in pastel.

I am a member of Women Painters of Washington and a Signature Member of the Northwest Pastel Society, the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Pastel Society of America.  I am honored to have been awarded Master's Circle Membership in the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS).
