Raised as a city girl, I moved to the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York in 1996, where I live happliy with my husband, two doggies and one kitty.  I am very blessed with visits from my grandaughter.

I love where I live because I can find a plein air painting site just around the corner and all though the neighborhood.  I'm inspired so much by animals and nature.  Even though deer are our garden denziens, If I see one, my heart smiles. 

Quite by accident, I created Big-Bottomed Bees and have found they are well received by collectors.  I thank DPW's weekly challenges for the motivation to paint a variety of subjects.  One challenge was "Paint an Insect".  I decided to paint honey bees as they play such an important part in nature.  As I was painting, they somehow developed bigger bottoms then they really have, but the whimsical side of me thought; go with it...it happens to the best of us.  Sometimes I paint them with purses and/or high heels.

I am dedicated to painting frequently knowing that by doing so, my skills will increase.  I love to paint in Oil and I have found that painting on gessoboard is the best support for my brushwork. I use only the finest quality artist materials.

Selecting a limited palette, I mix all colors from a just a few, to insure harmony. Over the years, I have learned the importance of mixing neutrals to enhance a painting.
