I am an artist because it's what I've been drawn to since childhood. During my school years, I decided to go into commercial art in order to make a living at what I loved to do. I attended Atlanta College of Art and Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, then worked in a variety of studios and agencies, and ended up at GM and EDS as an art director.
After 20+ years in the commercial art field (and a recent brief relapse into full-time work), I realized I had strayed from the things I really loved about art, and so quit work in order to go back to the more fulfilling field of fine art. I paint with a local figure painting group and try to paint on a daily basis in order to keep the momentum going and to hopefully improve my painting skills.
I live in Southeast Michigan with my husband and three cats.
