Deborah’s education began with painting lessons
at the age of seven. A graduate of the Art Academy of Cincinnati, she traveled
and studied in Europe in 1976 and was exposed to many great master painters
such as Sargent, Zorn, Fechin and Sorolla which continue to influence her
approach to painting.
" I am inspired
each day by painting from the beauty of life. I love the variety of
subject matter and capturing that moment in oil paintings. From
portraiture and figurative works to plein air landscape painting and
energetic still lifes, the combination of working form life as well as
mastering different subjects and disciplines of art greatly contributes to a
successful painting for any artist."
Currently exhibited in public and private
collections, Deborah is an active member of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati,
established in 1893, where she instructs the class “Painting from Life”. Deborah is an alumni/founding member of the Portrait Society of America
and a member of Oil Painters of America. She resides in Cincinnati with her
husband and two daughters. Her studio is in the new home of the Womans Art Club of Cincinnati in Mariemont, Ohio.
