I have been painting professionally since 1989. I have a
degree in Art Education from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and I studied art at the University of Missouri in Columbia. While in college during the 1970's I became fascinated with the work of the photo-realist painters such as Chuck Close and Ralph Goings. In the 1980's I began painting fine art using the airbrush as the primary tool for color application. Today I consider my artwork hyper-realism. After a thirty-year
career teaching art at the elementary and middle school level I retired in
2007. In 1994 I began displaying and selling my work at outdoor art fairs. I'm a signature member of the Missouri Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Honor Society and the Best of Missouri Hands. Each year my artwork is included in numerous art fairs and exhibits.
