Drawing and painting has been an important part of my life since I was a small boy. A career as a commercial artist, and other business ventures, had always limited the amount of time I could spend on my personal art. Now that I can spend as much time as I want on painting, I have decided to paint in both mediums: oil and watercolor.

I have had a lot of success as a watercolor artist, which has been my primary medium for the past 20 years.  Many of my paintings have been exhibited in national art shows, such as: American Watercolor Society, Arts For The Parks, Watercolor Art Society - Houston and others. Some paintings have been reproduced as prints by a company called Old World Prints as well as some published by myself. I recently found a small stack of these three prints and have decided to give them away FREE.  Go to my website: CERNOSEK.com to see how you can get one, while they last.

One of the reasons to return to oil painting is my recent discovery of plein air painting.  My second love is traveling to the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming.  I want to be able to paint landscapes of those areas.  My watercolor style has always been close-up stylized photorealism and for me, that doesn't lend itself to the way I want to paint these landscapes.
Another area of interest is still life subjects.  It makes it easy to set up a still life in my studio and work from that composition.  These small still life paintings will be sold through the Daily Paintworks auction, with a very low starting price.

I hope you will enjoy following my journey!
