I'm a contemporary realist painter currently residing in Las Vegas, NV. My medium of choice is oil on canvas and I work in the still life genre. Something of a dreamer, I prefer to approach my subjects from a meditative perspective, letting subconscious impulse direct the arrangement*. I discover the meaning of each painting as I'm working on them. This makes the experience feel like a treasure hunt. At the very least, it keeps me nimble.
(*This does not apply to my single subject food studies at 6"x6" and smaller. My usual impulse for painting those is simply gluttonous hunger.)"
