After graduating in 1985 with a Master's degree in art, I began a series of scenes from my home of interior spaces. These paintings were quite large and were comprised of images that I collaged together to create a fictional space. At about the same time I was producing small wearable art pins with similar images. These were sold in galleries and museums throughout the United States.
Since 2009 I have been painting small still life images of things that I bring into my home that interest me. At this time I became aware of the internet and the world of art that existed there. Captivated, I immersed myself in exploring this avenue. I began to paint small paintings on a more or less daily basis and watched myself grow!
I am in love with color and light. It is always the light that draws me in and captures my full attention. When I try to define my type of style, I guess that I would say that it is contemporary abstract realism. I seem to walk with one foot in abstraction and the other foot in realism. I paint with a loose painterly application of lush strokes of paint.
You can find my works of art on my Etsy site for sale.
