HI...my name is Martha Lever from Jacksonville, FL. I have been an artist for 32 years, starting off as a calligrapher and through the years developed into a lettering artist and designer. I have studied with many world-renowned calligrapher teachers including the calligrapher to the Vatican as well as with several teachers who are contributors of the St. John’s Bible Project.

            In my desire to create interesting, colorful, and textural backgrounds for my letterforms, my art expanded into the mixed media genre using watercolor, acrylics and oils. I lean toward a bright palette for my mixed media work but I experiment with many combinations of colors and textures that I feel draws the viewer closer into my paintings. I am concentrating on oils now.

            For me, art is an ongoing journey of experimentation, color and most of all... fun.
