My early years were spent in a nurturing environment full of great art, dance, music and literature. At the age of 7, I began training for my career as a professional ballet dancer. As an adolescent I danced on the stages of the NY State Theater and the Metropolitan Opera House. As a professional dancer I danced with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. While traveling in Europe and the Netherlands I spent time in the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, and the Rijksmuseum. In the States I frequented the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery and the Art Institute of Chicago. After being inspired by my travels I began painting again. For me, making a painting a day is a discipline equal to taking a ballet class every day. I've discovered that all art forms are fundamentally the same; they are about revealing truth and beauty, demand the utmost in time and attention, and must be grounded in good technique. I aspire to create paintings that are full of joy, color and light.
