Patricia Bennett works out
of her studio in Baltimore, Maryland. A classically trained fine
artist, she specializes in portraits. She attended the Art Institute of
Chicago and the Schuler School of Fine Arts. At the Schuler School, she studied watercolor, figurative sculpture, anatomy and oil portraiture for five years. She ground her paints by hand in black oil, and made Maroger medium.
Bennett was a two-time finalist in the Artist Magazine's Still Life contest and is a former member of Oil Painters of America and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association and the International Guild of Realism. She was also a juried resident artist at School 33 for two years. She has had several one-person shows of primarily oil paintings.
She has completed over twenty portrait commissions, many of them of children from life (not photographs).
Currently she is exploring watercolor, acrylics, and gouache.
