JUSTIN CLAYTON - BLOG | WEBSITE | EMAIL

Justin Clayton graduated with a BFA in Design and worked as a digital artist for several years at well-known video game companies. During this time Justin studied traditional painting at Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Arts and California Art Institute in Southern California. A mass lay-off at work gave Justin the opportunity to make a life change. He chose to devote his time to painting.

Originally from northern California, Justin has spent the last several years in Los Angeles, where he married his wife, Natalie, and started his painting career.

Describing his work, Justin says:

"I'm most interested in painting the singularity of a subject. This singularity and a simple design make for a beautiful painting. I call most of my work "portraits." Typically, a portrait is a likeness of a person but I like to broaden the definition to include many subjects. After all, I feel the subjects I paint have a personality of their own. Whether it is a row of palm trees or a single orange, they all exude a character. "

Justin's Daily Paintings have been featured in USAToday, Food & Wine magazine, Domino Magazine, and Washington Post Express. He recently relocated to the Austin, TX area where he continues with his dailies and other painting projects.
