This is my favorite nutcracker out of the trio I've painted. I suspect it's because it most closely resembles the nutcracker in Maurice Sendack's Nutcracker Suite. I've seen many a nutcracker suite and Maurice's sets and costumes are by far the best - in my humble opinion.
