I took my inspiration for this painting from a dpw artist whose work I just discovered! YAY! With that, I tried making my own light-weight shadow box, and was fairly successful. Then I got in my frig. Not only did I have fresh hen eggs, but I had a dozen of the most beautiful duck eggs! A few of those were HUGE! You can see the one in the front, and there's another smaller one in the back. The chicken egg is the pretty brown one.
I'm going to have to ask the farmer about her ducks. Maybe I can get a picture of one to paint. BTW, the eggs are wonderful to eat. She told me that they're "the" best for baking. Thank you, Mary, for your beautiful and inspiring work!
