Pantone's colours for 2016 are deliciously spring like and simply elegant. Rose Quartz and Serenity are a tasteful soft pink and a violet/light blue shade. See Pantone's write up on their selections at pantone.com/colour-of-the-year-2016.
The challenge this week is to create a painting using predominantly these two colours. It can be anything you choose from abstract, to figure, to a fluffy cloud. Let yourself explore the delights of a softer gentler palette. I think it will be quite a challenge to keep your palette pale and yet create an inspiring and interesting painting. Clue ... the key may be in composition.
Locating an image with both these pale colours was a challenge because most of the images were spring like or floral which is a bit early. I finally found this simple ocean scene which will appeal to snow birds and act as a reminder of lazy summer days come for those digging their way out of a snow drift.
Please be sure to follow the spirit and the letter of the challenge.
For example, each submission must be painted after the challenge is posted.
