I think cormorants and very interesting birds. They seem very focused. In the summer the adults have to do a lot of fishing for the youngsters.
This piece is a few minutes of a day in the life of a cormorant. Can you imagine perching on rocks in the ocean, being sprayed by the incoming waves, and bringing home breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to your youngsters perched on those same rocks???? I used acrylic inks, some iridescent and watercolor in this piece. This piece is painted on St. Armands's handmade paper. Some of the texture that you see is actually pressed into the paper.
