My adventures in art began at age three when I stole a notepad and pencil from near the telephone, hid behind a chair and tried ever so hard to draw my mother holding my new baby sister. Something inside me wanted to record an event even at such a tender age. Years later I received an undergraduate double major in fine art and education with studio majors in painting and drawing. If pressed I do not think I could choose between drawing and painting for each has its on delights and challenges.
My graduate studies were in biomedical illustration which fed my love of detail and the left side of my brain which loves biology and Mother Nature.
At the moment I am working on two painting series in addition to my pen and ink and colored pencil drawings.
Moorcroft Musings is a mixed media series that takes inspiration from early Moorcroft Pottery and vintage Japanese block prints. These paintings often feature the moon and the magical hours of dawn and sunset.
The Storybook Cottage Series is ongoing and features purely nostalgic miniature watercolors inspired by pictures in vintage childhood storybooks. The red roofed cottages often seen in the paintings are poster children for the less is more way of life and a hint to remember the most important items in the cupboard are crayons and paper not expensive, trendy items.

Prints are available framed or unframed for most if my images.  Contact me if interested.
