I grew up in a small rual community in southern Indiana.  Growing up on a farm, I spent many days outdoors playing in the fields and woods.  My fondness for the open countryside led to my interest in art at an early age.  I continued my education at Purdue University where I studied art aducation and interior design.  Professional work after college took me into the field of health care design. Marriage and children brought about a second career in fine arts, allowing me to work from home.

I first worked in colored pencil and now work almost exclusively in oil. I have studied with many great artists, including Bryan Mark Taylor, Ken Backahus, Lori Putman, Michael Chesley Johnson, David Dean, Steven Walker, Joe Lombardo and many of the Plein Air Painters of Utah.  My love for the outdoors continues to inspire my oil landscapes and the simple beauty of everyday objects are thoughtfully described in my still lifes.  I have shown my work and won awards in juried shows in the US and internationally.

I currently live and paint in Park City, UT.  My husband and I have two grown children and a life for which to be thankful.
