Most of my seascapes are painted with only my palette knife. I prefer a generous amount of oil paint. Although painting impasto is challenging especially when applying small details, it gives me a sense of freedom. The painting grows organically in an unpredictable way like nature itself. The beach cliff series depicts our beaches here in California, with turquoise waters, rocky coves, desert cliffs, palm trees, sunsets, and colorful wildflower blooms.
