David was born in 1968, and is an English realist painter. His early career began in the art studios of Stoke-on-Trent's potteries, followed by a degree in fine art from Manchester Metropolitan University. After university, the demands of having a young family meant that painting was relegated to a hobby and he worked for many years as a school teacher.  However, David always nurtured a longing to be able to paint for a living, and only in 2021 did he make the momentous decision to retire from teaching and start painting in earnest to make it his new career.
