I began exploring watercolor after retirement from a 44-year academic career in biomedical sciences, and immediately found it as enjoyable and relaxing as it is challenging. I enjoy painting a wide variety of subjects—especially scenes from our summer “home” on the South Coast of Massachusetts as well as from locations throughout the world as we travel. Painting makes me look at everything around me—objects, scenes, and nature—with new eyes opening new challenges. Now when my wife and I travel we have two additional purposes in mind—to look for interesting subjects to paint and to meet and learn from other artists.
I am extremely grateful for support from two extremely talented artists in Bryan/College Station, Texas—Hailey Herrera, who introduced me to watercolor, and Monika Pate, who continues to mentor me.
I enjoy creating paintings for my family and friends, old and new. Please contact me if you are seeking a personal painting that you think might be in my repertoire.
