As a young man I went around the world with the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Cub singing concerts.  Notable countries were Hong Kong, India, Communist Russia among the 17 on the itinerary. After spending the afternoon at the Louvre in Paris, I wrote home telling my girlfriend about the magnificent paintings and how I wanted to start painting.  Well that didn’t happen.  Time went by and life happened.

On the world trip I took all kinds of pictures, people, buildings and landscapes.  After returning to the US I kept using my camera.  Several years later and two kids I was contemplating taking better pictures by cropping the image in the view finder.  My own darkroom was out of the question. So I decided drawing lessons would help.  Signed up at School Craft College, Livonia, MI and studied under Vicky Britt.  Started out with pencil drawing, which led to colored pencil, then to water color painting and finally oil.  Well it happened, I was painting!

I‘m currently getting back to watercolor.  Some attempts I really like others not so much.  I’m posting those that I’m pleased with.
