Since I was little I have always loved to observe things and imagine how I would recreate the light, color, texture and movement. But I never actually attempted to until High School. I wasn’t very good at it, but loved learning all of the different mediums and techniques. I quickly grew a passion for it and for better understanding what I was capable of. I made sure I had an art class all 4 years of school. It was a fun hobby to have. I mostly had used acrylics for painting and charcoals for drawing. Mainly because those mediums had fit into my budget. I had gotten an inexpensive set of pastels and paper from the local craft store and instantly loved them. I started studying other pastel artists and learning what brands of pastels and papers they had used. I had started taking some classes from my favorite artists and I haven’t been able to stop. Once I had discovered the difference quality pastels and paper can make, it inspired growth and I love learning through process. I still go back to charcoals and paints from time to time, but I love the bright color and movement of the pastels.

I live in a small town in Washington State. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful places to live. I am surrounded by trees, mountains, desert and water and all that is beautiful. Perfect for daily inspiration.
