Kenneth Keys

Hello for whomever cares I am Kenneth Keys born Aug,23,1942 in Los Angeles ,Ca. I am an Elder in the Sherwood Valley Band of Pomo Indians from Willits,Ca. The only reason I mention it is because I occasionally paint members of different tribes and there are those that consider themselves experts and would question my accuracy. I have two paintings on display at the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center (CIMCC) located in Santa Rosa,Ca.and an acrylic painting of Pomo dancers in our tribal office. You will notice most of my work is mostly California subjects, it's because I'm a true native. I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember and I have never wanted to be anything else, although I have attended many different schools throughout my many years of life, financially I could never finish any of them, so I would call myself self taught. I love viewing others art and I think I learn a lot from it. As far as my own work since I retired in 2007 I devote all my time to trying different styles and techniques. I look forward to meeting some of the members here.
