k. Madison Moore Contemporary Fine Artist
Studio * Mount Pocono Pennsylvania
I am an artist with a deep passion for painting and an appreciation for beauty in all natural forms. At a very young age I discovered that I was most contented while visiting museums and exhibits along with being mentored by my grandfather in his studio starting at age 3.
"Each of my works are incredibly elemental. Using sensuous, romantic colors that convey a rich passion that is compelling. Collectively, my contemporary works are vivid, expressionist paintings that communicate profound feelings to the viewer."
Trained by four Mentors in Fine Art, Commercial Art, Art Restoration and a formal education. I was a Fine Art Restoration Artist and Appraiser for over 35 years, working with major clients and insurance companies with fire and water damaged art, antiques and collectibles. Some of my restorations include Picasso, Kandinsky, Kinkade and Neiman to name a few.
I have since retired from the restoration business to happily paint full time in my peaceful lakeside home studio in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with my artist husband and six cats and all the nature an artist could wish for. Due to disabilities I choose to limit my business to the internet and do not undertake shows or galleries if traveling is required.
After studying and researching The Masters for many years I havedesigned many works inspired by them.
"My vision is a Homage to the Masters for my Inspirations"
Reimaging and Inspirations
I enjoy reading researching a famous piece of work like van Gogh’s Cafe Terrace at Night for example. At the same time I was maybe also checking out some facts about Tarkay or Gauguin. Then the magic suddenly happens I see a composition reimagining Tarkay’s Ladies sitting at Vincent’s Cafe on a girls night out. A painting is created and a vision is completed. The title is Tarkay Visits van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night.
I see another reimagined piece is in my view after researching the relationship between van Gogh and Gauguin and Vincent’s chair paintings. Another painting completed, another vision is executed. The Title is: Together Forever - Van Gogh & Gauguin.
I love to paint about van Gogh’s life and have created an entire series around him:
In Love with van Gogh - The van Gogh Project.
feel a definite connection with the masters when I am working with them so I have named the
Series: Painting with The Masters.
I need my work to have meaning. I need to reimagine what would be if I could change things the way I want them or I see them in my minds eye. I like to create spaces for Frida Kahlo that are bright and happy to reflect a happier life for her if she were here today than she experienced in her real life. She is such an inspiration to me. I consider Frida as one of my muses for sure.
This Series is titled: Forever Frida
On the other hand, I am an animal activist. I adore most every animal and have had many of my own. In a sad but short period in my life when my husband was ill I needed something to lift my spirits, something to make me smile. Something to make me want to paint again! This is when I created, The Hipster Animal Gang. This is my special gang of animals dressed in clothes reflecting their personalities. I have also done several commissions of collectors animal past and present. Such fun dressing them. They make me smile and so many others happy! Now sold online in HUGE sizes.
Series The Hipster Animal Gang
I guess you would say I am diverse and prolific at times as I like to paint many subjects but I do have my favorites. I would be bored like crazy if I only painted landscapes or still life for the rest of my life like so many say this is protocol for a professional artist. My protocol… is to paint what makes me happy. To paint things that my collectors love. To paint for my collectors something that they were dreaming of or a reimagined piece from a famous artist collection that would never be affordable. To paint their pet in a comical major or a memorial painting to cherish forever. This is "my protocol!"
Available Commission projects for Businesses and Private Collections.
