I was born in the Netherlands where I worked as a nurse before I moved with my husband to Russia in 2001. After my first oilpanting lesson of Russian art academy teacher Victor Michaelovitch, I never stopped painting. I learned everything the old fashioned way with creativity sometimes forced upon me by shortages of paint or materials. Victor was strict but also tought me to be bold. His advice is still invaluable.

I was so intrigued, I studied and graduated in illustrative art. My style has changed over time but has always been realistic. I paint in oils. In 2004 I moved to Oman where I held my first exhibition in 2008. 'Arabic Groove' was a success with 80% of the paintings sold on opening night!

After that I moved to Qatar and Houston where I exhibited local themes regurlarly and painted in commission. Sometimes I got frustrated by big works when it didn't turn out how I wanted and with 3 small children, painting time is limited.I found the daily painting book of Carol Marine in the bookstore, that has been a big change for me. I started painting smaller and more and with all the international moves every few years, it was a great idea to open my etsy shop. Now I am back in the Netherlands since 2016. Every country has his own (art)challenges and has been incredibly valuable for me.
I will continue my business in the Netherlands now, at least for the forseeable future. I get inspired every day by things and views around me. I paint plein air as well as in my studio.
