Let the beauty of what you love be what you do

Sunlight fell upon the wall, the wall received a borrowed splendor- Rumi

My painting and sketching, connect you to the source of this splendor. For me, art is a reflection of the divine and a meditation upon the splendor of the sunlight itself.

The bright bold colors of the tropics, the rich blue skies, flowing saris and African wraps, and the thunderous waves of the Indian Ocean, provide the background which influences my choice of color and medium.

As a painter of fine art, I love the magic fluidity of watercolor, the richness of oil, and the bold of strokes Sumi-e where so much is said with so little.

Artists who have inspired me the most are Qi Baishi, for his achieving great effects with minimal strokes and color,  and John Singer Sargent, for the portrayal of atmosphere in his work
