Rita is an impressionist painter with a classical approach. She loves painting in high key colors and is equally moved by the moody tonality of the old masters.Rita's paintings have received international and national recognition from International Artist magazine, Oil Painters of America, The Artist's magazine, Raymar Art, and the BoldBrush competition. She was the featured Artist at the 28th Oxford Fine Arts Fair. Landscape awards include Artists' Choice from Paint Annapolis and Best of Show from Paint Solomons. Her paintings will be part of the upcoming book 100 Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic. Many of her illustrations are in World Health Organization manuals around the globe. Rita learned the craft of painting from modern masters--including David Leffel and Robert Beverly Hale--at New York's Art Student's League. She credits Louis Escobedo for her contemporary use of color and brushwork. Rita studied literature & history at New York University and literature & art in Perugia, Italy.
