Sometimes (or rather most of the time) or - what am I saying - actually always, painting breaks are important. In the case of this painting, I had a treat for the delicatessen vault before finishing it. On my return, I looked at the picture again and found it to be almost finished. Only the top left of the tree was still missing some darkness - that's why it's still wet in the photo. Manchmal (besser gesagt meistens) oder - was sag ich - eigentlich immer sind Malpausen wichtig. Bei diesem Bild gab's vor der Fertigstellung Schmankerl fürs Feinkostgewölbe. Bei der Rückkehr sah ich das Bild mit neuem Blick und befand als fast fertig. Nur oben links beim Baum fehlte noch eine Dunkelheit - darum ist es auch auf dem Foto noch nass.
