The picture turned out to be a mixture of a hawk and a capercaillie. I actually wanted to call the picture “the big puvogel” (which I am doing here). But that is apparently a North German name for the hoopoe. I thought puvogel was something “made up.” Das Bild ist so eine Mischung auf Habicht und Auerhahn geworden. Eigentlich wollte ich das Bild darum "der große Puvogel" nennen (was ich hiermit tue). Aber das ist wohl eine norddeutsche Bezeichnung für den Wiedehopf. Ich dachte, Puvogel wäre was "Erfundenes".
