I loved the watercolor meditations I did on the watercolor block, but I decided to do something less abstract and more detailed for this piece and worked from a photograph I took while staying in Eureka Springs, AR. It was quite a challenge but I love how it turned out. I managed to keep the painting loose despite all the detail, and I absolutely love how it turned out. I wish I could grow foxglove around here so I could paint it more from life, but there are a fair few coneflowers so I might be doing more of them from life.
