Media: Watercolor Paper from a Block
Size: 12x16 in
I had a block of watercolor paper that I kept for decades without using it because I never felt ready. Last year I decided to really get into painting watercolors and I finally started creating some fun, bright pieces that made me happy. This is the first one I did in the watercolor block (after I filled a sketchbook and used up every other bit of watercolor paper I had!), and I loved watching the strange creature just develop in front of my eyes. As much as I love the exactness of daily painting in acrylic, there is something amazing about how watercolors just bloom on their own. This painting also has silver watercolor accents.
