Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 26/250
I have drawn this guy in the past, he sells the Big Issue in front of Charing Cross Station. He was part of my Big Issue Series. His face is powerfully structured, a delight for the lover of faces. I went about this with the inside-out technique in full Alla Prima. With no drawing at the beginning and with a brush larger than expected for a small piece like this, I painted little shapes till the whole face emerged. I've titled it conflict, as that's the way life is- we are in total conflict all our days, there's always something to overcome till the day when perfect peace will reign.
