Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 112/250. "GERRI (II)", 6" x 8", oil on BoardThis is the final one of Gerri @iamgerrii, She has been a great Instagram discovery, she featured in 106 & 108 of this series.There are faces that just have everything you look for in portraiture and Gerri has a face that is simply built on what I call 'perfect underlying structures'- such faces are hard to resist as a portrait painter, you just want to experiment and see how you can interpret it in your own language.
I have shown what the portrait looks like without definite eyes and lips. Truly the eyes and the mouth are the most important parts of the face in portraiture.I painted it with the inside out technique with pure juicy Winsor and Newton Oils with no solvents or mediums, just the pure, solid oil colour.
