Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 83/250. "QUEEN REBECCA", 8" x 10", oil on board
I'm still stealing time to paint but its getting better now and I'm almost at the tail end of my book. This is Queen Rebecca, I've been longing to paint her but I've not be pleased with the right pose, this one did it for me! I started off by sketching with Zig and TomBow dual wash pens and coloured pencil after which I fixed the base and then painted on top with the Inside- out technique. She comes across here as very regal and bold, hence the title 'Queen Rebecca'. It always tricky painting beautiful ladies, as there's a tendency to want to soften the strokes, I had to resist after getting too fiddly.
