Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 79/250. "THE ALCHEMIST", 6" x 8", oil on board.
I encountered this guy on the bus, his face was sculpted like the strata on rocks and mountains. I was simply blown away!! I had to have him as part of this series! I worked with the inside-out technique. I used very thick colour with very little softening of edges. I was inspired to title this work after reading a powerful book, "The Alchemist"- it was a revelation! All we seek for is right here!
