This is number 20/250. My Deliberate Portrait Practice Series. I think because there were so many images of The Duchess of Sussex over the weekend, there was no way I was going to get her face out of my head. I love beauty, elegance and flair and she seems to beam these all at once. So since I'm doing my Portrait Deliberate Practice, I decided to take on her face. Beautiful people are quite hard to paint but I decided to be as natural and sketch-like as possible. I tried to capture a bit of the simplicity of her personality. Beyond all the flair, she comes across as the most down to earth person. This was done with the outside-in technique in straightway Alla Prima on a little 8" x 6" mdf gesso primed board.
