Portrait Deliberate Practice Series 9/250. "THE GYPSY", 8" x 6", oil on MDF (unframed £375) #250portraitchallenge This piece was approached with a purely experimental mindset. I'm ready to take risks with this series so I just went in with bold strokes and fresh colours and it kind of worked. I saw this lady and she was the prettiest thing I'd seen in a while, I couldn't do anything but paint her! The colours on her head gear were radiant and glowing and I just wanted to capture all that in this piece. Knowing when to stop was the most important thing, I actually stopped before I finished!
