Festive Bouquet started as a demo for my students on different ways of approaching a painting. I notice that sometimes my students are disappointed when they can’t paint something exactly as they see it. I point out to them that realism is just one form of art and that there are many ways of being an artist. If we all measured ourselves by how skillfully we rendered a scene or object, there would be very little “art.” I kept this loose for that very reason.
