❤️ This scene was painted on location in Oceanside, California. I sat in the shade under the pier with a fellow plein air painter. We both left out the person who did a face plant in the sand next to the cabana. He was okay. While painting, we were briefly surrounded by some exuberant young people who looked a bit gang-like in their black colors, gold chains, and tatoos, but they loved talking to us, taking pictures of our work, and watching us paint. I guess, art truly can unite.
