Day 1 of my personal challenge to paint 30 Portraits in 30 Days.
For this one, I grabbed a magazine photo and thought that pastel would be a good route for a quick drawing, because I was short on time. I ended up adding oil pastel in several layers and spent a little more time than intended, fashioning this individual's face. The face, to me, looks adolescent and pensive, like a face of teenage angst. Or maybe she is just in an intelligent and serious mood. The viewer can decide.
