I tried using cold wax and oil at the beginning, but had some trouble adding color, so I think I prefer to start with acrylic, using wax and oil in the final layers. I'm open to advice on cold wax! I might try to clarify some parts (or not) and then will move on to a brand new one--same image, different cropping and slightly different process... These days, I'm really happy to place color beside same color to lose a lot of edges.
