Another small monochrome nocturnal landscape study I did in Kevin Courter's workshop. This time my focus is the play of the reflection of moonlight and the scattered logs that are half-submerged under water. The value difference between them has to be correct for the scene to register as a night-painting. I tried really hard to make the value difference of the logs and trees in middle ground very subtle -- they should read as one when squinting, as moon light is so much less potent than the all-revealing sun... Another moody painting -- I really enjoyed working on it!
