The tag line that I long ago gave my work is, "finding beauty in life's ordinary things," and, in my opinion, this painting illustrates that. Individually, the objects are okay at best, but assembled into a pleasing composition, the whole exceeds the beauty of the individual parts. Those of you who follow my work may remember that the old enameled pitcher belonged to my great grandmother. It was chipped as it is today when i was a child, and, as they say in the southern U.S., I'm no spring chicken. So, the pitcher is quite old. My neice in northern Indiana owns the pitcher. I borrow it ocassionally to paint, but she complains that I keep it too long. Last time I borrowed it, she said I could keep it for six months, and I returned it two years later. My apologies, Cora! This is an older painting done several years before I joined DPW, and didn't got posted until today. The tag line that I long ago gave my work is, "finding beauty in life's ordinary things," and, in my opinion, this painting illustrates that.
