This painting contains a mix of very antique objects and objects of much more recent vintage. In years the antiques outnumber the others, so I've called this one "Long Ago." The book was published in 1859, and the old enamelled cup belonged to my great-grandmother. It was already chipped when I was a child, so who knows how old it really is? The ceramic jug was purchased at a local antiques store, so it too is of unknown age. I bought the pitcher at FADO Antiques and Art in Dingle, Ireland. In reality it's brass, but I decreed, "let it be copper, and copper it became." :) The pot, bottle and candle stick are relatively new. I tried to be a bit looser in my painting style in "Long Ago," and I believe I have succeeded to some extent. I hope you enjoy it.
