On our first trip to Ardmore, County Waterford, Ireland in 2009, Mary Beth and I met a delightful woman, Mary Troy, in Ardmore Gallery and Tearoom. We immediately bonded with Mary, and she invited us to her home for tea the next day. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Visits in Mary's home were highlights of several subsequent trips. We also became good friends with her daughter, Judy. Sadly, Mary died a few years ago. When we were there in 2018, Judy asked if we would like her Mom's fish platter, and of course, we said yes. It is now a treasured keepsake, and every time we look at it or use it, we think of our dear friend Mary. So, this painting is dedicated to the loving memory of Mary Troy, our friend from the little community of Curragh, Ireland. By the way, the platter was made at the former Jack O'Patsy pottery in nearby Yougahl, and both Judy and Mary knew how much we like their work. That made the gift even more special.
